Thanks very much WI .

I jumped off the fence a couple of days ago because I genuinely felt on Sunday night that increasingly lowering heights over the Med and the renewed surge of high pressure nosing out of the Arctic towards Siberia would be enough to promote a more favourably aligned Scandinavian block.

My confidence has increased further since that forecast. Next update tomorrow night.

A bitterly cold continental feed with snow flurries will certainly be a shock to the system. MetO will align soon hopefully.

A much better effort than the BBC earlier today.  I hope you are right.

I think theres a risk of accumulations  overnight Mon/Tuesday over east Kent Downs. Overnight Showers could be heavy at times I think.

Thanks Dean and WI. I've highlighted the risk of snow flurries tomorrow night and into Tuesday and will be keeping a very close eye on any developments. I'm not expecting anything too heavy at the moment as it appears to be a weakish frontal occlusion in association with a step change in airmass rather than anything convectively enhancing. One to watch that could produce a dusting on the Downs though.

Three bites at the cherry then Gusty, thats exactly how I see it.

Bite One: The showers tomorrow will be hit and miss.  I reckon 5cms are possible towards the east Kent Massif (Challock-Paddlesworth) because the showers will be slow moving. But, most places will get nothing and a few spots may get a dusting as you say.

Bite 2 is the "Dutch trough" - hmm, very difficult to call but perhaps our best shot at 2cms or so.

Third bite is the stalling front from the west - its such an atypical set up that my feeling is it will stall and sink south before getting here.  So it could be 0, 1, 2 or 3 out of 3 by Sunday midday!!  Chances of something decent at 25%.  Chances of a dusting 75%.  Chances of nothing 25%.
