    Weekend Storm

Think could do with its own thread!

Looks shocking to me, It looks possible that SW England could well have gusts to 70MPH oSad

Not good for people on holiday down here and its the worse chart I have seen for quite a while!
Its not just this area at risk from the strong gusts but other areas still could get 50+ MPH

I hope it downgrades before the event, But currently I think Torquay will get a bashing from Gale/Severe Gale force
    Easterly for a time!

Pat on the back as someone already pointed out, This one was nailed by GFS last weekend

BOT - it does look quite a stormy weekend for July. More like an October chart. oShocked

    Re: Weekend Storm

I noticed the way the  FAX charts shows an occuluded front really curling itself around a deepening low pressure center.
As someone pointed out in here, that chart would not look out of place in October. Looking set to be an interesting weekend, if you like that kind of thing.
Should bring some much needed rain here in the South East, though!

Like someone said the other day, straight from spring into autumn, quite peculiar really. Given the winds are from the east up here, I imagine Leeds will be honking of TCP over the weekend..oApprove

After all the sun and dry weather in the last 3 weeks here, our grass is 50% brown now, so the rain will be welcome (if we get any).

It's exactly the same here, there's now more brown and parched stuff rather than actual green grass in my front lawn so I wouldn't mind seeing some rain soon.
It is absolutey gorgeous over here now with strong sunshine beaming in from all direction, but it made for a VERY hot morning in them greenhouses, it's already having the effect of making the plants wilt and I don't want to see that happening.
So, at the moment I'm watching this low pressure with sweaty palmed anticipation. oCooloShy

Can see the Cirrus shield now for this system out to my west.. http://www.sat24.com/frame.php?html=view&country=gb

The latest FAX analysys shows that front over the centre of the country http://www.meteociel.fr/ukmo/fax/fax0s.gif, which looks like its a line of cirrus on the sattelite - not sure what this is exactly - maybe an upper cold front ? - does anyone know ?

    Re: Weekend Storm

I am off to Cornwall for a week's holiday tomorrow morning. Looks like I picked a good week for it! The weekend does look horrid.

Took a look into FI to see if there is any sign of something better towards the end of next week. Unfortunately I found this for 0z next Saturday. Deja vu I think.
