May finishes with 63.4mm, which is actually slightly wetter than average (111% of average). This has been because of heavy showers.

Final total is 30.2mm which is 49% of the local average. All of this fell in small amounts, so only useful for adequately watering the surface inch or two of ground - hence a lush lawn at least!

Final May total here is 57mm, a little above our long term average.   However almost all of this fell in the space of one week from the 13th to 20th with almost 50mm in this period, so much of the month was actually very dry.


Spring 2017 overall was slightly dry here with 112mm, meaning the driest Spring since 2011 which had just 56mm.
