Minus 3C but a difference this morning - a dry frost so no windscreen icing like yesterday. Yesterday was a cracking day and almost an ice day. Not gin clear air but a great winters day with a light feed off a chilly Continent.

Afternoon John!

Turning out to be a fine and sunny day at this end as we remain under the continental airflow, even the 6 C felt pleasantly mild in the winter noon sun when I popped out not so long ago. Then there is the 40% humidity which is drying everything up.

The longer this eats into winter "proper", the less of the winter season to deal with . . . unless we go onto having a cold and wet Spring.

It has been a lovely sunny day here and another nice clear evening currently cooli down nicely here at 4.5°C after an earlier high of 8.5°C in my garden.

Somewhat surprisingly given the relatively high temperature earlier the thick frost has persisted all day in the shaded parts.
